Isha Ambani, managing director of Reliance Retail, received the prestigious “Icon of the Year” award at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards 2024. She was presented the award by renowned interior designer and entrepreneur Gauri Khan.
In her acceptance speech, Isha dedicated her award to two significant people in her life: her beloved daughter and her mother. “I would like to dedicate this award to my daughter, Aadiya, who inspires me every day to do more and do better,” said Isha. She also credited her mother, Nita Ambani, as her role model and guiding light, adding, “I always tell her, ‘Mom, thank you for walking, so I could run.’ This is really because of her.”

About Isha’s Early Life
Isha Ambani was born on October 23, 1991, into the prestigious Ambani family and raised in Mumbai. She completed her early education at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and later pursued a degree in psychology and South Asian studies from Yale University in the United States. Isha earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Stanford Graduate School of Business in California.
Her Career
After completing her studies, Isha worked as a business analyst in a leading global firm. In 2014, she joined Reliance Industries as a board member, and since then, she has played a pivotal role in its growth. In 2016, Isha launched Ajio, an online fashion brand. Personal Life
Despite her success, Isha places great importance on family and personal life. Her father, Mukesh Ambani, is chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, while her mother, Nita Ambani, is the founder of the Reliance Foundation. Isha has a twin brother, Akash, and a younger brother, Anant Ambani.
In 2018, Isha married Anand Piramal, son of industrialist Ajay Piramal. Together, they have twin children: a son, Krishna, and a daughter, Aadiya. Outside of her business career, Isha is a trained pianist and has performed in several stage shows.
